This Means War: 8

I was reminded this week of the battle believers face each and every day. My heart breaks as I type and think of situations in which people I care about are under demonic attack in an unreal way. I am often brought to tears as I think about my life a year ago. I was fighting a battle that I was losing and didn't mind losing. If it were not for the sovereign God intervening in my life, I don't know where I would be or what I would be doing.

I think it is imperative for me to reiterate some things about this war. These are things I have found true in my fight and the fight of others. I pray you will take these things to heart and let them be a reminder to you.

First, the devil is extremely powerful and clever. I have heard people say, "I'm going to charge hell with a water pistol." Let me be the first to burst your bubble, you will lose. I think too often we underestimate the power the devil has in this world. He and his demons are constantly working and scheming to take believers down. you have the full force of hell coming at you each and every day .If you need further proof, READ THE BIBLE. Actually, you don't have to read past Genesis 3 to see how powerful and manipulative Satan is. Yes, I said GENESIS 3!! The devil knows what he is doing, and he is coming after you.

That leads directly to the second reminder. If you try to fight the devil on your own, then you will lose every time. The pride inside of us all likes to feed us with the idea that we are strong people. We tend to think that we are pretty good at handling the devil. Unfortunately, nothing, & I mean nothing, could be further from the truth. We have no chance to defeat the devil on our own strength. I know you may think you can handle the onslaught of the devil, but you are not equipped for that war on you own. Quit trying to win this war on your own. That only leads to defeat, disappointment, and discouragement.

Finally, we must remember that though we may not have the strength to win the war against the devil, God wins every time. How awesome is it to think about that? God has never lost a fight against the devil. That is the exact opposite of our own odds. We never win, but God always wins! The extraordinary aspect about God is that He has made Himself available to all true believers. It boggles my mind that God would fully indwell every believer and fight through them to win the war against the devil. It is when we do as God commands that we win this war. Knowing the power of God rests in us should encourage us to keep fighting the fight of faith. We must rest upon the power of God and trust Him to win the war.

Some of you are in the midst of some of the darkest days of your life. The circumstances you presently find yourself in are beyond your wildest nightmares. You feel as though you might as well give up and give in. Maybe you have resigned yourself to the thought that this is the end. If you are a believer, be of good cheer because the One living inside of you is far superior in every way to the one fighting against you. Simply surrender everything at His feet and do as He commands.

If you would like Brittany and myself to be praying for you, please send us an email or leave us a comment. We know what it is like to face the full force of the devil and come out on the other side. We would count it a great privilege to spend some time praying for you.
