Life is crazy, right?!
I am always looking for ways to make things a little easier for myself, and I wanted to share a few of my tried & true, go-to tips, tricks, & a maybe even a quick recipe!
Bible Study Time
Let's just be honest. Sometimes, especially when we get to all of the 'begets,' the Bible can be tough to get going in. It's just so deep and full of so much that I often get overwhelmed. I've tried studies, and I love a good Bible study. Right now in our Sunday School class we are going through chapters of the Bible at a time, & I LOVE IT! I like how my notes are linear and each chapter builds on the previous. Our teachers, Brack & Hannah, shared with us the questions, and then we discuss our answers as a class each week. It is so amazing to see God's Word working through different perspectives & lives. Here are the questions we answer.
1. A Promise to Claim
2. A Lesson to Learn
3. A Blessing to Enjoy
4. A Command to Obey
5. A Sin to Avoid
6. A New Thought to Carry
7. A Direction to Pursue
Right now we are reading Luke 16.
DIY Jewelry Cleaner
Not taking credit for this one. I found it HERE on Pinterest, and you know I love my Pinterest so much.
I store it in the kitchen in a Mason jar.
A little dull
Definitely more sparkle & clear!
Second Grade Spelling
Last year our teacher sent home these exact same helpful tips for Stephen, and now that Carson is in 2nd grade, we will be implementing these same tips to help him with his spelling words and tests!
We have a wall in our kitchen that we painted with green chalk paint, and it is the boys' favorite spot to write their spelling words. We try to mix a couple of different spelling choices each week. This week we will use the chalk and the sentences choices for Carson!
Clean Smelling Car
I do not clean out my car regularly. It is often full of shoes, clothes, and toys from the kids, and it drives my husband crazy most of the time. I cannot, however, have a stinky car. I've tried every kind of car air freshener, and what works best for us is DRYER SHEETS. I slide dryer sheets under the kids' seats and in between the front seat consoles.
I recently tried this with my Scentsy wax, but it did not work nearly as well as just dryer sheets. My favorite scent is Bounce Outdoor fresh!
Everyone has a go-to chicken salad, and here is mine!
1 Rotisserie Chicken, chopped
1-2 apples (red delicious), chopped
1 cup of seedless grapes, halved
1 1/2 cups of mayo
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp sugar
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 onion grated
Whisk the mayo, vinegar, onion, and seasonings together. Add apples, grapes, and chicken and mix. Refrigerate until ready to serve. I serve on croissants or crackers. My favorite way to enjoy this chicken salad is on it's own with ruffle potato chips!
Hopefully with these little tips and tricks we mamas can fake normal a little easier!
