Faith Funk

Have you ever been just stuck in a faith-funk?!
I have been lately, and it's completely taken control of my attitude & outlook. I've been stuck in an anxious-state, and my view of life has just been negative. I hate it too! Recently I heard 2 songs back-to-back on the radio last week, and my heart was just so calmed. Then to top it off, on that same day my verse of the day just lined up perfectly with those songs. Isn't it just amazing that God worked all that to calm my heart at that moment.
Mercy Me
"Even If"

"They say it only takes a little faith to move a mountain//Well, good thing//A little faith is all I have right now//But God, when You choose to leave mountains unmovable//Give me the strength to be able to sing//It is well with my soul."

Casting Crowns
"Oh My Soul"

"Oh, my soul//Oh, how you worry//Oh, how you're weary, from fearing you lost control//This was the one thing, you didn't see coming//And no one would blame you, though//If you cried in private//If you tried to hide it away, so no one knows//No one will see, if you stop believing."

Psalm 42:11

These two verses from very similar songs & this verse of the day smacked me right in the face. Why am I doubting, and why am I letting Satan distract me from the present?? Yesterday, I sent my hubby a text saying that I am just done worrying about it all. God has this big plan for our lives, and not every day is going to be mountain tops. I am ashamed that I've wondered recently if He even cares about me {real talk here}. I've repented many times since of my disbelief, and He is definitely using this season of waiting to prune me to where I need to be. So here I sit, late at night finishing this post, and I want to encourage you, friend. Life isn't perfect, rather it is very flawed! Find joy & peace in your current season.

Happy Tuesday, y'all!

  1. Great post. Funks are so hard. Being stuck in negative places happens to all of us at some point and anxious states of mind are hard as well. I can really get sucked into an anxious state. I will lift you up in prayer today and know that you are loved.

  2. Amen!!! I was right there with ya recently. I was like a bratty little two year old screaming "what about me??" Lol. And does the worrying ever go away?? Ugh. Hugs mama!!

    1. Yes!! I had my own pity party, temper tantrum, but God is still good!

  3. I completely understand and with kids sometimes we get so focused on being the right example, raising them to make right choices and keep their heads up, not including my kids age differences, ball , then a husband and wifely chores, etc. The list could go on and on but we tend to forget about ourselves and the encouragement that we need to keep our faith strong. I have learned to hear God's voice through what I speak to my children (for example.. if you would just listen to me I am hear to protect you I love you and i don't want anything to happen to my baby) sound familiar SO does GOD!HE loves us so much more and wants to discipline and direct our paths because HE Loves Us! Praise HIS name.
Brittany you are an amazing woman - you are so strong and your life is an example to others (i know i look up to you) and encouragement. I hate we missed the opportunity to bond. You are BEAUTIFUL inside and out not including your family. Remember it's not our own understand we rely on we lean on His understanding alone..
Love you and ALWAYS praying for you and your family.

  4. Great post! I am right there with your! I have been struggling with giving everything over to God and stop trying to be in control. I just have to remember that God has a plan and I have to have faith! I will be praying for you.

  5. Girl thanks for sharing. Love your blog and your honesty. I do believe the devil uses anxiety in our lives...i hate the feeling! Love the songs you shared. REST IN Jesus, resist the tools of the enemy!

    1. Thanks!!! Great advice..now let me just try to do that! :) #controlfreak

  6. Oh man we all can, can't we and mighty quick! I am so glad you found comfort from God. It takes me a while and with gritted teeth sometime to say AHHHH! I need you to help me here ;). xoxo ERIN

    1. Yes!! I'm feeling so much better. God is good
