Life Lately

Guys!!
Does anyone else out there need a vacation day?!
Whoever thought school after Halloween was a good idea is crazy.
Can I get a witness out there?!

We've had a week that has been much like a roller coaster, and I just thought I would just share a little of what our week has looked and felt like!

We celebrated Halloween last night, and our weather was
P E R F E C T I O N!
This year we had a mermaid, crazy clown, and a grim reaper, and it was so fun with these silly babies!

We started our Trick-Or-Treating by stopping by my grandparents' house. It is where we always, always start, and then we met up with some church friends for a quick dinner & then Trick-Or-Treating.

Stephen & his buddy Cameron swapped masks!
Somehow while going through a neighborhood, we ended up adding more friends to our already large group. The kiddos & grown ups all had so much fun!

We ended the night by swinging by and visiting my mom for a few minutes!!

I don't know if y'all are on SnapChat, but the Halloween filters have been so, so good! My sister & I sent so many silly snaps to each other this week. I'm just not sure if November & December can hang with the October filters!

Nataleigh had Pumpkin Day at her school too this week, and I was lucky enough to swing by for the fun!

 but first some selfies!!
Learning about Spookly the Square Pumpkin!!

 cutest little pumpkins ever!

Her favorite activity was Math Trick-Or-Treat because lots of candy was involved!

If you are loving her pumpkin dress, I just have to tell you about it!
One of my best friends forever, Angel, gave us this dress years ago after her little girl, Kylee out-grew it! Nataleigh has worn it literally for the past 3 Halloweens, and I honestly think she can wear it next year with skinny jeans! It's such a special dress because Angel & Kylee are precious to us!

Speaking of cute Halloween outfits...

This tee shirt is my favorite!
Hocus Pocus is one of our favorite movies, and the Sanderson Sisters on a Vogue cover was needed!
And of course, my cheeky little girl needed her baby doll in a picture because you know the Sandersons are all about the youth!
HA!!

On Monday, Nataleigh headed to Knoxville for a semi-routine breathing test with her pulmonologist.
{silly girl!}

Unfortunately we didn't get great news. It seems that she's still failing these tests pretty badly. Her small airways are only functioning at 38%, and that is way, way too low. They ordered some blood work to start testing for some other stuff. She's atypical because she has no symptoms other than frequent bouts with pneumonia & poor breathing tests. Right now everyone is stumped, so we are now testing to rule pretty major things out. I've been a pretty crazy roller coaster of emotions this week, and it's really just beginning for us. We will be back in Knoxville today having more blood drawn for more in-depth tests, and we are being referred to an immunologist because she is showing signs of immunity deficiency.

Please join us in praying that we start getting some answers, so the doctors have a direction to go in. I mentioned they have thrown big, scary words around, and as much as I've tried to not worry, it's just not happening right now. I'm an anxious mama who desperately wants answers! God is God, and He is good.

Thank you to those sweet people who have reached out and offered prayers, love, and so much support. Right now she's doing great. She has no clue the seriousness of the situation, and that is exactly how we want it.

Like I said earlier, it's been a roller coaster week for me & Joe especially. I'm so thankful to have such a rock like him to go through these seasons of highs and lows with. The rest of our week is pretty busy as well, but thankfully it is full of lots of fun & love!

Happy November 1st!!

  1. Oh gosh what a worry! I had no idea that you had this appointment and got the concerning news. It does sound like you are in great hands though - they are aware there is an issue and doing the right things to get to the bottom of it. You are such a good Mum with keeping her upbeat and chirpy and distracted. I am 100% confident this will get sorted and you will feel a ton better - answers will come. I will pray for you sweet friend! J xx
