Sunday Set-List {On a Wednesday}

Okay, okay!

I may have skipped days in this whole Blogmas adventure, but y'all we've been knee-deep in snow all week. On top of that, my kids are still out of school because of the snow and ice, so today I wanted to share another song that we've sung at church that just resonates so much in our family's life!

"Living Hope"

Eek!
This is our family's jam, and I'm not kidding when I say that hearing my babies in the back belt the chorus of this song warms my heart so much!!

The lyrics....

"How great the chasm that lay between us?
How high the mountain I could not climb?
In desperation, I turned to Heaven
And spoke Your name into the night.
Then through the darkness, Your loving kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul.
The work is finished, the end is written
Jesus Christ, my Living Hope.

Who could imagine so great a mercy?
What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of Ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame.
The cross has spoken, I am forgiven,
The King of Kings calls me His own.
Beautiful Savior, I'm Yours forever
Jesus Christ, my Living Hope.

Hallelujah
Praise the One Who set me free.
Hallelujah
Death has lost its grip on me.
You have broken every chain, there's salvation in Your name.
Jesus Christ, my Living Hope.

Then came the morning that sealed the promise.
Your buried body began to breathe.
Out of the silence, the roaring lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me...
Jesus Yours is the victory!

Hallelujah
Praise the One Who set me free.
Hallelujah Death has lost its grip on me.
You have broken every chain, there's salvation in Your name.
Jesus Christ, my Living Hope.

I mean, no words, right?!
I seriously get chills every single time we sing this song. The simple, yet beautiful way that the song shares the greatness of the Gospel is what I love most. There's also so much life to every word and note! It's beautiful listening to it on Sundays and Wednesdays, but it's even more beautiful hearing it on the way to school Monday through Friday!

I hope this little post and sharing of an incredible song brightens your Wednesday a little!!

Happy Wednesday.

-Britt

I do not own the music or images in this post. I am just sharing the work that talented artists have put out.

  1. You're right, it is a beautiful song. Our church plays it once in a while. Love the lyrics.
