You Asked....

I love reading so many different bloggers, and I have certain posts that I just LOVE! Q&A posts are some of my favorites. I took to my Instagram { @britthensley} on Monday to get some questions from y'all, and today I'm sharing some of those questions I was asked.

How did you and Joe meet?!

EEK!
I love this question, and while I feel as though I've been blogging for a while, I have so many new faces around here and on Instagram that many of y'all probably have no clue how we met!
We met at Lovelace Baptist Church in Fall Branch, TN. I was just home from the University of Tennessee for summer break, and Joe was the new pastor at my grandparents' church. My Poppy was his very first chairman of deacons, and he thought the new preacher needed a friend. Well we became friends first, and then we quickly fell in love. He's still my best friend, and I'm so thankful for the past 15 years!

Favorite memory from school?

SHEW!!
I loved playing volleyball all four years with some of the best girls ever. Volleyball is such a team sport, and we had such a close-knit group of girls. We hung out all summer before and after practices, and we were really good friends. I would go back to high school in a heart beat to play another year of volleyball with those same girls!!

How do you & Joe make marriage a priority?

We've not always done a great job of prioritizing our marriage..I'll just be honest! A few years ago our marriage completely crumbled due to a lot of different situations. Since letting God completely rebuild our marriage from the bottom-up, we have a different idea of prioritizing each other. I said earlier that he's my best friend. In this very busy season of life, we will put the kids to bed and stay up just to catch up or watch one of our favorite shows. Sometimes while we are driving from one thing or another, we'll fade the radio to the back, so we can just talk. He sends me a good morning video every single morning, and I love every single silly one. He's my biggest cheerleader, and I'm his biggest fan.

Can you explain how blessed you are to be married to Joe Hensley?

#FACEPALM
This is what I get for opening these questions on Instagram, right?!
He's really the bees' knees, y'all!
He's sweet, kind, & strong. He's the leader of our little family, and I know that we are all so proud of him always.
I should have expected something like this from him!!

I do love him, though!!

Do the gifts from Santa get wrapped?

Some of them do!
Our kids each get 3 gifts from Santa because Baby Jesus only got 3 gifts. Santa's elves wrap 2 of the gifts, and normally one gift is either hidden in the tree or set up depending on the size of the gift. I mean, Santa couldn't wrap the Barbie Dream House a few years ago, but he did wrap the Pokemon card set for Carson last year.

Happy Campers!!
I spent most of Monday with my mom getting the kids gifts from her & my sister wrapped!
It's so fun just hanging out and wrapping presents!!

What is your ideal date?!

Literally any time spent with Jojo is my favorite, but when we get a quiet, kid-free night out together, we tend to grab some sushi & desserts. We love any kind of sports, so we've been known to head to a ball game together. And I love me a good concession stand!

How did you get into the pageant world?

{EEEK! My beautiful girl}
We started in pageants kind of as a joke. When we found out that we were expecting a girl, Joe "put his foot down" & declared that his daughter would NEVER do pageants! Well, my mom, Nana, had other plans, and she entered Nat in her first pageant at 2.5 years old, where she got 2nd runner up out of 25 girls. From that day on, Nataleigh has been hooked. It's completely something she wants to do and practice. We never force her to compete. We do, however, steer her to systems that teach her more that just to walk on stage and smile pretty. NAM & Cinderella have both taught her incredible life skills, and at less that 6 years old, I swear this girl could go interview for her dream job..I know she can because she does every time she competes! She's also learning all about public speaking, and she still loves it so much!
We are already planning our pageants for 2019.

Chocolate or Vanilla Ice Cream

Chocolate...duh, but specifically...
This bit of deliciousness!

Well this was so fun today sharing a little, well a lot of randomness. I plan on doing this periodically throughout 2019, but as for today, I'm off to enjoy my babes' first day of Christmas Break. No school until next year.

    1. My Jojo doesn't necessarily love me calling him that, but he only 'lets' me call him that! It is what it is at this point...I can't go changing after 15 years, right?!
