10 on the 10th [April]

Hey there Wednesday!!

What a week, and it's only Wednesday.

We officially kicked off our inaugural men's volleyball season last night. We were all a little uncertain with what to expect, but our guys played so well! We were all so stinking proud of them, and for the next few Tuesdays and Thursdays I'll be cheering for 13 awesome volleyball fellas!!

Any who..on to today's post!

I'm linking up with one of my favorite friends, Jennifer @ The Bolin Bunch, for her 10 on the 10th link-up.

Today we are sharing 10 household tips!

Do 1 load of laundry every day!

Back in the days before children, we could wash laundry only like twice a week without any problems, but now, if I skip even one day, I'm so far behind! Thankfully laundry is my absolute favorite chore ever, so it's not a super big inconvenience for me!

Fold your laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer!

I swear, if the laundry makes it from the dryer to the laundry basket unfolded, it gets wrinkly, & I get frustrated! I've started folding as soon as the dryer finishes, and the laundry magically makes it mostly unwrinkled into drawers more often than not!

Let your kids help!

My kids are 11, 9, and 6, so it's expected for them to help out around the house. They are expected to clean their rooms, put away their stuff, etc.. They need to learn how to be a little independent, while learning major life skills like laundry, dishes, and tidiness.
My favorite little helpers!

Find your spouse's favorite chore, and let them do it their way!

Joe is super incredible at vacuuming. I mean, he's a vacuum champ in my book, so I totally back off while he does his thing! I've learned that if we are all good at just one thing, or if we all only liked one thing, that would be the only thing that got done. Thank goodness for gifts and joys in other areas of life...especially when I don't have to vacuum.

Even a little bit every day adds up.

I know I'm not the only one out there with a crazy schedule every day. An all day deep cleaning isn't in my future, but tidying up a little every single day somewhere will eventually make my day of all-out cleaning a lot easier!

Baby wipes & Magic Erasers are treasures when cleaning.

I swear baby wipes will clean anything, and for the things it won't clean, hello Magic Erasers! I'm amazed by just how much these two with clean! I've cleaned permanent markers up with this combo, and I was super impressed!

All hands on deck..always!

No one wants to be the only one cleaning, and if everyone chips in, then it makes the work go by so much faster!

Put a good playlist on & jam out while cleaning up!

Music always makes any situation a little more fun! We will blare us some good ole country music {Hello Luke Combs}, and we'll just get it done! We may have a few spontaneous dance parties while cleaning, but it gets done!!

Make it a competition!

My kids (and hubby) are super competitive, so sometimes we'll race to see who can pick up the most whatever. Competition always encourages the best of cleaning up dance parties!

Give yourself some grace, friend.

Sometimes the dishes don't make it into the dishwasher, and that is okay! Those same dishes can get loaded and washed in the morning. Some nights I'm just exhausted, and what I want to happen, doesn't happen. Thankfully my hubby & kids still love me regardless of the state in which our house looks! Your house isn't a reflection of you are a parent or wife!

What is your favorite and least favorite chore?!

Do you have a 'system' to keeping a clean house?!

  1. Love all of these! I couldn't agree more :)

  2. Oh wow I'm going to have to try baby wipes on my stubborn baseboards! I also really need to start my kids on chores!

  3. My least favorite chore is cleaning the bathrooms but every now and then my husband takes over and does a real thorough cleaning; I just LOVE that! We definitely clean a bit everyday too.

  4. Thank you for linking up with me! I need you to come to my house and do laundry! Hope the rest of your week is great. :)
